Holy
Trinity church has existed since 1150 and has a membership of around 300
today. Canon Bill Matthews, vicar of the parish since 1981, has just
retired and the position of vicar is therefore vacant. We have two Churchwardens and a
Parochial Church Council of some twenty members that deal with all the
day-to-day running of the church. We are part of the Church of England
within the worldwide Anglican Communion under the Diocese of
Salisbury.
Locally we are part of the Bradford Group Ministry and members of the
Bradford Area Churches Together. We also hold services in the Saxon
Church and St Mary, Tory.
We have a
variety of activities throughout the month in the Church Hall. Mothers'
Union is open to all confirmed members of the Church of England who support family life,
and it meets on the third Thursday of each month in the evening.
Details of all these and
other activities can be found in the monthly church magazine, Parish
News, and on our
other web pages.
Our local
comprehensive school, St
Laurence, is a Christian foundation to which we nominate two
governors.
The Friends
of Holy Trinity is for anyone in the community who wishes to support our
heritage at Holy Trinity.
